Description of a vacancy

Our client is a rapidly expanding Ukrainian grocery retail chain operating a convenient store format with a broad product portfolio and in-house production facilities. The company is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Marketing and Advertising to lead and scale its marketing function, Kharkiv.

Requirements:
  • University Degree in Marketing, Management, Economics, or a related field;
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive marketing experience, ideally within FMCG or B2C environments;
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience managing teams and budgets;
  • Strong expertise in marketing strategy, digital channels, and e-commerce ecosystems;
  • Advanced analytical capabilities with hands-on experience managing KPIs and performance metrics;
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Experience overseeing budgets exceeding $100K; solid understanding of AI-driven marketing tools and web analytics platforms (e.g., GA, Meta Analytics);
  • Strategic thinker with strong leadership presence, sound judgment, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business objectives;
  • Lead annual budgeting processes and ensure disciplined cost control and ROI accountability;
  • Conduct market intelligence analysis and monitor competitive dynamics;
  • Contribute to pricing strategy development in close cooperation with commercial leadership;
  • Oversee the planning and execution of advertising campaigns, promotional initiatives, and loyalty programs;
  • Manage brand development, corporate identity, PR activities, and media relations;
  • Drive digital growth, including e-commerce development and CRM strategy implementation;
  • Establish robust web analytics and performance measurement frameworks;
  • Develop merchandising standards, coordinate in-store activations and tastings, and partner with suppliers on joint marketing initiatives;
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team while managing external agencies and cross-functional collaboration.
